Walks by the sea

The seafront on foot or by bike

The route starts on the seafront of Arenzano, continuing to Cogoleto and finally reaching Varazze, partly making use of the cycle-pedestrian path, called the Ex-railway, and partly the seafront promenade of Cogoleto.

Arenzano, Cogoleto and Varazze, are three typical locations of the western coast of Liguria, featuring a small centre, with bars and shops, and a seafront with bathing establishments, some of which also accessible to people with physical disabilities.

From Cogoleto, along the SP1 Via Aurelia for about 6 km, in 10 minutes you can reach the small town of Arenzano, also the name of the A10 motorway exit. The Shrine of the Infant Jesus of Prague lies on the hills of Arenzano, one kilometre from the railway station and about two kilometres from the Via Aurelia and the motorway exit of Arenzano. Consecrated in 1928, today the Shrine is a destination for a great many pilgrims and tourists. Leaving Arenzano by way of the via Aurelia, you will reach the Genoese district of Voltri; here you will take the SP 456 del Turchino to reach the Stura Valley.
